This past week was supposed to be about giving, remembering and celebrating the life of our micro-preemie Isabella. Our plans were to make our biggest donation ever to the surrounding hospitals for her birthday.
Instead our weeks have been filled with scary fevers that wouldn't break at 104+...Endless worrying, too much motrin & tylenol - dr's appointments, x-rays, breathing treatments, the dreaded flu and pneumonia. That's right, the nasty germs know all too well that Isabella's preemie lungs don't quite stand up to her brother and sister's - but at the same time they are fighting even harder, they just don't always win.
Today I can say that there are no fevers! No more watching & waiting for fevers to come down. Today I am thankful for cool foreheads and nasty coughs. And let me just say -
Thank.God.For.Antibiotics! It's amazing what they can do when they are needed. And Thank God the flu had mercy on us.
This all leads me to why I am rusing to post today! Last week when I was sporadically checking emails I opened one of the best emails ever. An email that validated why I am so proud to say that I am part of this baby loss, premature birth community.
Angela over at Our Miracles, Mattiaus & Marcus sent me an email offering to make me my very own piece of Subway Art for Lily. I had been secretly grieving inside, unsure if it was because my babies were so sick or if it was just hitting me out of the blue like it often does.
Angela is all too familiar with the secret grief that comes along with being a baby loss Mama, her son Mattiaus Lucas was born with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia in 2010 and passed away too soon on August 6th, 2011. Her blog was started to update family and friends about Mattiaus and his journey, but has turned into an amazing journey of Mattiaus and her son Marcus who was born this past August.
Angela said that, "Mattiaus has taught us so much about life & Marcus has brought us so much hope and joy and has already helped us to move forward, to live."
Through Angela's journey of hope and love with Mattiaus and Marcus she wanted to bring a glimpse of happiness to other families who have lost a child. That is why she started her most recent project of giving away 100 pieces of Subway Art. That's right! Angela will customize the subway art for you and email you a jpeg of your design...
because she is a Mama who knows
she is a Mama who feels it and lives it every day of her life
she is a Mama giving back for all the love that she has received
thank you Angela, from all of us in this amazing community ♥
